And the Winner is...
Last night, the winners at the 15th annual Highways Awards were announced during a gala dinner at the Lancaster London.
Keysoft Solutions sponsored the award for Road Safety Scheme of the year, and Director Will Baron announced the winner, while special guest host, former F1 McLaren pit mechanic Marc Priestley, presented the award. The winners were Department for Infrastructure, Eastern Division and Gibson Bros Ltd for their junction improvement at the A26 Ballinderry crossroads. The judges commented:
“This road realignment was successfully developed using a thorough analysis of collision data and has addressed all of the key safety problems at this heavily trafficked road junction.”
The junction improvement scheme, designed in-house and constructed by Gibson Bros Ltd, addressed an extensive collision history and improved safety at a busy junction on the A26 trunk road to the airport.
A mention must also go to runners up, SNC Lavalin, Atkins Business and Highways England for their visibility safety research.
Thanks to the awards organisers at the Hemming Group for an excellent evening of celebrating success within the highways and transportation industry.
