COVID-19 : Keysoft Solutions Software License Assistance for home working

Recent UK Government guidelines have changed the working landscape and home working will become the new norm for many users of Keysoft Solutions products over the coming weeks/months.

Keysoft Solutions is committed to maintaining our customers' operations as it pertains to the functionality of our software and the delivery of the highest quality technical support. 

An area that we understand could be an issue is access to Keysoft Solutions software because: 

  • A single-user (standalone) license is activated on a computer which cannot be physically accessed. 
  • A single-user license does not work when remotely connecting to a computer via Remote Desktop Connection (RDC). 
  • A multi-user (network) license which, due to limitations in an organisations infrastructure, cannot be accessed from home.

There are different options available to you depending on the license type you have, either Subscription or Perpetual. 

Subscription Licenses 

If you have already taken advantage of moving to a new Keysoft Solutions subscription license, you have the following options available to you: 

Option 1 

Single-user license For single user (standalone) subscription licenses our support team can deactivate your current license and issue you with a new activation code to activate your subscription license on an alternative computer where the software is installed.  

Option 2 

Single-user license If you can access your normal work computer remotely, using a Remote Desktop Connection (RDC), we have temporarily removed the remote connection restriction that previously prevented you from utilising the software in this way. This benefit is available to you with immediate effect all you need to do to apply this change is deactivate and reactivate your license, as described in Knowledge Base article ​KA-01025. 

Option 3 

Multi-user licenses If you can’t access your network license from home, your license administrator can request a number of free of charge, single-user, 3 month subscription licenses from the support team – one for each multi-user license. These licenses are for home use only and can be transferred between different users within your organisation, as described in Knowledge Base article KA-01025. 

Perpetual Licenses 

If you are running Keysoft Solutions perpetual licenses you have the following options available to you. 

Option 1 

Single-user license For single user (standalone) perpetual licenses our support team can deactivate your current license and issue you with a new activation code to activate your license on an alternative computer where the software is installed.  

Option 2 

Single-user license Transition your existing perpetual license to a subscription license. You will then be able to access your software using a Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) during the time we have temporarily removed the remote connection restriction that previously prevented you from utilising the software in this way. 

Option 3 

Multi-user licenses If you can’t access your network license from home, your license administrator can transition your existing perpetual licenses to subscription licenses. You will then be issued a number of free of charge, single-user, 3 month subscription licenses from the support team – one for each multi-user license. These licenses are for home use only and can be transferred between different users within your organisation, as described in Knowledge Base article KA-01025 

Further Information 

Please note in order to run your Keysoft Solutions software (with the exception of KeyPOST, KeySCAPE LT and KeyTREE LT) on a home machine locally you will require a home use AutoCAD license, which you can request from your Autodesk Account portal. 

Important: You will need to ensure that any home computer where you wish to run the software meets the recommended system requirements for the products you wish to install. Further information can be found in our Knowledge Base article KA-01116.
