KeyLIGHTS is a highway lighting software package for creating working drawings of proposed highway lighting schemes.
It includes its own illuminance calculation engine, a Roadway design tool, and a fully integrated Highway Power Calculation (HPC) module. KeyLIGHTS also provides for you to design all the civil works for the installation of your street lights. With full support for BIM and 3D meaning you can now share the data rich designs with other software such as Navisworks or maintenance inventory.
The KeyLIGHTS package is a very efficient and resourceful tool to assist us in producing professional presentations for our clients.
I would unhesitatingly recommend KeyLIGHTS to anybody.
Highway lighting software that allows for the easy creation of highway lighting schemes
Includes its own illuminance calculation engine
For BIM collaboration and maintenance inventory, export your designs to a range of formats including CSV, IFC, GIS (SHP) or Navisworks
Fully featured roadway calculation tool included
Facilitates the drawing of detailed ducting and cabling designs
Roadway Calculation Design Tool
KeyLIGHTS includes a fully featured roadway calculation tool for luminance calculations. You can create simple or complex road profiles including any combination of verge, cycle path, hard shoulder, footway or carriageway, at any elevation. These can be saved to the drawing as CAD objects, or external files for collaborative design and re-use.
Vertical Illuminance Grids
KeyLIGHTS allows for lighting calculation grids to be rotated in any plane, providing for environmental impact assessments. Grids can be placed to determine light levels on building frontages (the image shows a surface with buildings, generated by KeyOSC from OS Building Height and OS Terrain 5 data). Light levels for sloped ground can also be calculated, for example.
Lighting Columns and Other Electrical Equipment
KeyLIGHTS provides for you to build your own symbol library. In the Lights Manager dialog you can decide on any property you require and these are then used as presets for insertion in your scheme designs. Spacing tools then assist with the accurate placing of these.
Data Driven Design
All necessary data is stored with each symbol in the design drawing, and can easily be exported to use with other programs or to support the BIM process. Included is support for photometry files, and any other physical characteristic such as column diameter, material and foundation dimensions.
Light Level Plots
KeyLIGHTS includes its own Light Calculation Engine (LCE). Light levels and contours are dynamically updated if column placement needs to be altered, allowing you to design light, power and set out all your civil works, all in one space eliminating the need for cumbersome data exchange between different software.
3D and BIM Built-in
KeyLIGHTS is 3D enabled, models being dynamically generated directly from the data stored such as foundation dimensions, bracket out-reach and height. Data fields can be customised, and you can add your own for exports to Navisworks, Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) or SHP for Esri and other GIS products.
Highway Power Calculations (HPC)
An optional HPC module calculates all cable and fuse requirements to meet the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671). Voltage drops and other electrical properties are dynamically updated if your design needs to be changed to meet lighting requirements, eliminating the need for cumbersome data exchange between different software. Quickly produce test schedules and schematics.
Layout and Design Tools
KeyLIGHTS provides a range of tools to ensure accurate layout, whether this be linear or staggered arrangements, at variable or fixed distances, or setout along a footway to update lighting between existing columns for example. Symbols can be swapped automatically, for example from proposed to existing after scheme completion and customisable automatic keys can be created for symbols used in drawings.
Plug and Socket Modelling and Dynamic Annotations
KeyLIGHTS employs a system connecting objects together. If you need to re-work your design, connected objects such as brackets and luminaires, cables and ducts, even annotations, remain connected and stay up-to-date.
3D Driver's Eye Views Automatically generated
The full power of AutoCAD's 3D capabilities are harnessed into a simple to use tool. KeyLIGHTS generates driver's 3D views automatically to assist with safety audit. Other 3D features can be added to enhance the design drawings, including buildings, walls, trees, signs etc.
